Angela Thomas-Jones
Angela Thomas-Jones is a PhD researcher in third year at Murdoch University, Western Australia. Her dissertation is focused on the relationship between fashion, body politics and Australian working women. Her Honours thesis approached the complexities of multiple masculinities and its representations in English gangster cinema. Her undergraduate career saw her complete a double major in Communication and Cultural studies and Media Studies where she picked up an array of popular cultural interests. Angela's main areas of research involve gender studies, body politics, fashion, the creative industries and workplace relations.
Angela began her undergraduate studies simultaneously with employment as a research assistant in the School of Psychology at Murdoch University and then as a Research Assistant in the Division of the Arts. Until recently she had been employed in the fashion industry in Western Australia, but she had to take a hiatus in order to finish her PhD and pursue a career in writing and research.
